Year 11 Art Trip to the National Portrait Gallery

On Monday 8th January, 61 Year 11 artists from MGGS embarked upon a day of culture to explore what was on offer at the National Portrait Gallery in London. The Gallery is home to the most extensive collection of portraits in the world and offered the opportunity for our students to get inspired for their GCSE examination project.

Whilst there we viewed the prestigious Taylor Wessing Photo Portrait Prize entries and got to see the work of world famous artist David Hockney, in his exhibition entitled “David Hockney, Drawing From Life”.  Having the opportunity to see artwork in person is always a fantastic experience and a wonderful day was had by all.
