MGGS U12 Team Out of Kent County Cup: Proud Journey to the Quarters in the Maidstone League

On Saturday 27th January, early in the morning, MGGS U12s set off with a cold and frosty start to Simon Langton Girls School. In the first half, the opposition took control of the game through a strong and skillful winger. MGGS had a game on their hands! Simon Langton took the lead with 3 amazing shots at the keeper that unfortunately made their way into the back of the net.

In the second half, MGGS found their rhythm, closing down the opposition with speed to deny them space and time to threaten our goal more. MGGS put their heads together and nearly scored on many occasions. They knuckled down and started to get back into the game, Simon Langton Girls School were hungry for another goal, however, MGGS battled through and did not give them one. The second half remained goalless; it wasn’t enough to pull off the win.

The end result was 3-0 to Simon Langton Girls School, which knocked MGGS’s U12 team out of the Kent County Cup. It has been an amazing run by the MGGS team and we are proud to have reached the final 4 teams of the competition, which started with 46 teams.

Lookingforward, I am sure that they will succeed in the Maidstone league when they get the chance to start playing!
