Tech Titans Unite: Drone Assault Course Physical Computing Workshop

On the 25th of April, we had the CEO of STEM, Severine Trouillet visiting MGGS to facilitate a Physical Computing workshop for GCSE Computer Science students in Year 10.

The workshop was delivered by Su Adams and her team from U Can Too, who have, in the past, provided physical computing experiences for our students on designing a Crazy Golf course using micro:bits.

30 of our students stepped up to the challenge to design an obstacle course that can be navigated using drones. The mechanics were controlled using Micro:bits and the design brought out the creativity in the students – light up doughnuts, candy canes, Thor’s hammer, and a pirate ship helm to name a few.

The students had an amazing time working with Su and Severine and bringing their programs to life. Here is a brief glimpse from the workshop.
