Winning Streak in Kent Cup for MGGS U12’s & U13’S Football Teams!

MGGS U12’s Triumph: 7-1 Win Against Walderslade Girls School in Kent Cup Round 2!

On Wednesday 8th November the Year 7 football team picked up a crucial win to Walderslade School in round 2 of the Kent County Cup.

Elsie R scored 2 and assisted 1 goal, Polly P scored 3 and assisted 2 goals, while Olivia B scored 2 and assisted 2 and last but definitely not least Amber R assisted 2. The scoreline suggests that the game was an easy win but it was far from it, going into the game we were looking strong but struggled to find a goal, then Polly scored her first followed by another, after that Walderslade scored a goal and were looking stronger. Then out of nowhere Olivia cut inside and scored just before the half-time break. After half-time we took a while to get going but when we scored we continued to press and attack, Walderslade never gave up but we won the game 7-1.

MGGS U13’s Triumph against Wilmington Academy and go through to round 4 of the Kent County Cup!

On Monday we played in a match. It was our 3rd round in the Kent Cup. We were all a bit nervous going into it but also very excited. We had a good feeling we could win it and we all worked extremely well together. In the first half we scored 2 goals. This put us in a good position going into the second half but we wanted to score more. We now knew how they played so we could use it to our advantage. The game got more and more physical as we went on but we still battled hard and if anything we played better as a result of it. At the end of the second half, we had scored 4 more goals meaning we had won the game 6-0!

We were all very proud and grateful to the Year 7s who played alongside us and held their own against Year 8’s.  We played brilliantly and are so happy to be going through to the next round. Bring on Langley!
