Mental Health Day – #helloyellow
Friday, 8th October was our first non-uniform day: students were encouraged to wear a yellow accessory to raise awareness about mental health issues. We raised over £500 which will be donated to https://www.youngminds.org.uk/ – a charity that does fantastic work to raise awareness and provide tools to understand and cope with a range of mental health challenges. At lunchtime students took part in a variety of activities ranging from stone painting in the memorial garden and art therapy in one of the Art classrooms.
Thank you to our wonderful Diversity Ambassadors for leading and organising this initiative. Students really enjoyed doing something different that brought calmness, joy and fun to their normal school day.
